Brown Shoes

I love to wear brown shoes.  I own black ones, but tend to always gravitate toward some shade of brown.  Brown shoes always warm up an outfit and add depth to it. When wearing grey or blue, most guys will choose black shoes as they think black goes with everything, but brown really adds some flair.

There are many different shades of brown, from chocolate to carmel and everything in between. In the winter you may want to go with darker shades while light browns work best in the summertime.  Every man should have a few pairs of shoes in his professional wardrobe and at least one should be brown.

This touches one of my bigger issues when I put effort in dressing proper: Most of my belts are brown/ brown leather in different nuances, whilst most of my shoes are black. This usually doesnt look good when combining (black shoes with brown belt), but the problem is easily solved when I pick belt in the same colour as the shoes.

I’ve already invested in some more black belts to go with my cool black shoes, but I wonder if there are any general rules when combining shoe - and belt colour.

Thanks in advance for Your answer!

    Kipp,

The most basic general rules for belt and shoe coordination is the one you have figured out on your own! Black shoes black belt, Brown shoes brown belt. I’ll go deeper into this issue in my next post so check back in a day or two.
