When I hear light black I think grey. Yes, you can wear a grey sport coat with jeans and brown shoes. In fact, When I wear a grey sport with jeans, I wear brown shoes. Blue shirt, no problem. Blue, grey and brown are all neutral colors so you can wear just about any color shirt with it.

There are all kinds of non-leather products out there and there are all kinds of company's that specialize in vegan footwear. Google "vegan men's dress shoes" and you will see what I mean. I'd still put shoe trees in them.

Well, that's all good and well for people who can get any type of shoes out there, but the choices get VERY limited when one's lifestyle dictates that one cannot buy any animal products... including leather.

Is there any fashion help available for us vegans of the world?

Thanks

Ah, this was a great post!
I think a lot of people over look the belt/shoe combination.
I think you were on the dot as far as I see a lot of men with the "matchy matchy" looking shoe and belt thing going on.

EXCELLENT info!

Kipp,

The most basic general rules for belt and shoe coordination is the one you have figured out on your own! Black shoes black belt, Brown shoes brown belt. I'll go deeper into this issue in my next post so check back in a day or two.

This touches one of my bigger issues when I put effort in dressing proper: Most of my belts are brown/ brown leather in different nuances, whilst most of my shoes are black. This usually doesnt look good when combining (black shoes with brown belt), but the problem is easily solved when I pick belt in the same colour as the shoes.

I've already invested in some more black belts to go with my cool black shoes, but I wonder if there are any general rules when combining shoe - and belt colour.

Thanks in advance for Your answer!

Hi!

Just wish to say congratulations to a very promising blog. I really enjoy some of Your ideas, especially the one about You wearing the clothes, not the opposite around, although I believe it has some modifications (contextual, eg: not suitable to wear jeans and T-shirt in a formal business meeting).

Looking forward to follow Your blog to read and learn.
Greetings from Norway.
